24 Oct Halloween Tablescape: Spooky yet Sophisticated Decor
Spooky but make it chic! I’m sharing my easy and festive Halloween tablescape and a few tips for styling your own party.
Choose a Unique Color Palette
Halloween decor doesn’t always have to be orange and black. For an unexpected take on Halloween, switch up your color scheme. Neutrals and metallics keep the look elevated while burnt orange, browns and reds would all make a stylish accent color. I used classic red roses and variegated carnations in the centerpiece as my pop of color.
Skip the Creepy Decor
When it comes to a Halloween table or buffet, stay away from scary decor. No one wants to see blood or creepy crawlers when they’re eating. Choose friendlier items like these Day of the Dead-inspired skulls and pumpkins to keep it cute and on theme.
Go All In on Napkins
If you buy one item for your table, purchase Halloween napkins and pair them with basic plates you already own. They instantly make your table more formal than paper napkins, and as an added bonus, they’re more eco-friendly. There are endless ways you can fold them to switch up the look. I chose a horizontal napkin fold to show off more of the spider web pattern. There’s no right or wrong way to display napkins so test out a few folds to see which one works best for your Halloween tablescape.
Try Taper Candles
Candles are a must for Halloween decor, and tapers give off serious Haunted Mansion vibes. I opted to use fake candles for this table so I could add some cobwebs around them without worrying about a fire hazard. I used these candles for my wedding due to restrictions at my venue and did TONS of research to find ones that looked real. These ones from Amazon get an A+. They have different settings for brightness and flickering so you can adjust them to look realistic in your room.
Shop the Halloween Tablescape Look
I bought my spider web napkins, white glass pumpkins and mini skull dishes from Home Goods, but I’ve linked similar options below. My clear goblets are by Villeroy & Boch, and I’d highly recommend as a tablescape staple! They work for every occasion.
