Our North Carolina Wedding Welcome Bags

We hosted our wedding at Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina. Since most of our guests were traveling from out of state, we put together North Carolina wedding welcome bags for them to receive upon arrival to the hotel with some local favorites.

For the bag itself, I chose a small non-woven tote from Custom Earth Promos. They’re a thin fabric-like material, similar to what you’d get when shopping at a nice boutique. I’ve tested so many bags for my clients, and these are always a favorite because they’re the perfect size for a few goodies. They feel higher quality than a paper bag but are still really affordable and can be customized with your logo.

Instead of customizing items with our names or wedding logo, we came up with the phrase “Party at Pinehurst” to print on all the swag and utilize for our wedding website URL and hashtag. We were really excited about the venue and destination, and we thought people would get more use out of the items if they had a fun phrase.

Here’s everything that went into the gift bags:

Local NC Food Items

Something sweet + something savory = the perfect combo of treats. We included small bags of popcorn from Carolina Popcorn Shoppe, Carolina Kettle Chips potato chips and Carolina Chocolate Company chocolate bars. I loved supporting small businesses, and since they all had Carolina in the names, guests could easily tell they were local.

Personalized Items

Guests always appreciate water bottles after a long night of drinking! We ordered custom label stickers from Zazzle to keep it on brand. Zazzle frequently has sales, so no need to pay full price if you plan ahead of time.

Our venue, Pinehurst, is world famous for golf — they’ve hosted several U.S. Opens and have the renowned No. 2 course designed by Donald Ross — so I HAD to play off that. We ordered customized golf tees that say “Party at Pinhurst” along with a golf-ball shaped lip balm. We put those together in an organza bag from Amazon so they wouldn’t get lost in the larger bag.

Hand sanitizer is another wedding weekend essential. I bought hand sanitizers from Bath & Body Works (they have the best scents) and added a “Party at Pinehurst” sticker from Etsy.

Map & Event Details

My mom painted us a map of our wedding weekend that we then had printed at FedEx. The map marked all the venues for the rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception and brunch. The back of the card listed the event times, locations and transportation details for the shuttle. It’s so thoughtful to provide this info to guests upon arrival so they have all the important details on hand. It will also save you the stress of answering last-minute questions.

What do you think? Comment any other local favorites that would be fun for North Carolina wedding welcome bags!
